3 Benefits of Keeping Your Business Organized: Part 1
“Organizing is what you do before you do something so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up.” - A.A. Milne
This quote perfectly sums up how we feel about organization. It really is a lifesaver for successfully completing work for our business. Utilizing calendars or journals is something we are recommending to all of our EntrepreneuHers whether you are just starting or already have an established business. These are the benefits that we have found by staying organized “on paper”
1. Promotes a Clear Mind

If you’re a new business, you likely have tons of ideas going through your head daily. You’re probably thinking about how projects are going to be completed, how new projects are going to get started, how you’re going to build your clientele/customers, which social media platforms you’re going to use and when you will post, and the list could go on and on.
Let us tell you, having these thoughts running through your mind all the time will get overwhelming! It can even put you at a standstill or cause you to lose motivation because you don’t know where to start. Something the HerWay Team does is write everything down.
Simply jotting down what you’re thinking promotes a clearer mindset. This works because many times, we are constantly thinking of the same ideas so we don't forget them. But, Having your thoughts written down gets them out of your head. You no longer have to constantly remind yourself of something.
2. Keeps you on task
Using a calendar also helps to keep you on task. If your mind is always racing with different ideas, you will probably have a hard time completing most of them. You most likely will move on to another task before you finish the first one. This happens because you don’t want to forget the next job on your list.

However, having the ability to see what you want to accomplish for that day will increase your chances of being productive. This is especially true if you use a calendar, particularly one that breaks down the days by the hour. So, some of the HerWay Team members like to use online calendars.
3. See Your Accomplishments
The third benefit of writing down your thoughts that we have found is it allows you to see what you have accomplished in the day. As business women, our minds are constantly working. We are thinking about what we could have done better, what we need to do today, and what needs to be done in the future. So, it can be hard to keep up with what work we completed each day. However, when you are able to physically see every task that you have completed on a work day, it gives you a wonderful sense of pride. Literally crossing tasks off your list, can alleviate the stress of constantly having to think about it.
